Teach Africa

Teach Africa raises money to sponsor the secondary education of the poorest children from the slums of Nairobi in Kenya. The charity was founded by Steve Adams, who whilst visiting the slums found that over 50% of the primary school girls wouldn’t live to see 25. School was the only thing keeping them safe from rape and aids. Through the money raised the brightest children are sponsored through to secondary education. They can avoid a terrible fate, and act as role models to other children dreaming of a safer and brighter future. In Association with Go Beyond: On a not for profit basis, Go beyond organises running and cycling events, from 2k junior runs, to an epic 156 mile adventure across Britain. Go Beyond runs events that push everybody to find adventure and their limits, to inspire each individual competitor to ‘go beyond’ their usual limitations.
