Depuis 150 ans, le Théâtre du Châtelet joue un rôle prépondérant dans la vie culturelle parisienne. Avec sa salle à l'italienne et ses 2000 places, c'est une des plus grandes salles et son plateau peut se vanter d'avoir accueillis les décors les plus extravagants. Fidèle depuis son ouverture aux "grands spectacles", il a présenté au public opérettes, opéras et comédies musicales en tous genres. Aujourd'hui subventionné par la Ville de Paris, le Châtelet continue d'être un théâtre de production qui propose des créations alliant l'excellence artistique, de la fabrication des costumes et des décors au choix des orchestres et des chanteurs. Ses productions s'exportent, My Fair Lady à Saint Petersbourg, Candide au Japon… Le Châtelet s'adresse à tous les publics et offre un éventail de spectacles unique : jazz, récitals, one man show, concert, variétés, danse, comédie musicale…
