Thahara is a new way to travel in Myanmar. We offer unique and authentic accommodation and experiences around the country. Our properties are small and intimate, allowing us to offer a genuinely personal experience.
Thahara means friendship in Pali, one of the ancient languages once used in Myanmar.
Thahara was created by a group of friends. Yin Myo Su, the founder of the acclaimed Inle Princess Resort and Mrauk U Princess Resort, and her colleague, Kyaw Swar, teamed up with their friends Genevieve, Josephine, Catherine and Peter from Anthem Asia, an investment group that has been building sustainable businesses in Myanmar.
Our vision is to create a more interesting and personal way to discover Myanmar. We opened our first destination, Thahara Inle Lake, in October 2013. Thahara Pindaya is now opened and also ranked number one on TripAdvisor and most recently we launched a unique teak wood boat for private charter... and we have many more exciting properties in the works.
