The Philadelphia Foundation is Southeastern Pennsylvania’s community foundation, a pool of more than 900 charitable trust funds created to improve the quality of life in Southeastern Pennsylvania. We have awarded over $250,000,000 — a quarter of a billion dollars — in grants and scholarships to community organizations. We provide donors with tools, knowledge and financial stewardship to maximize the strategic impact of their charitable contributions. Our benefits include flexibility, tax advantages, long-term stability, convenience, credibility and expertise in financial management and grantmaking.
Because we are locally managed, our grants reflect the priorities of our community. We annually award about $20 million a year to nearly 1,000 organizations as grants and scholarships. We typically give away more in annual grant dollars in our region than the Lenfest and Comcast Foundations.
