The Skillman Foundation has been a voice for Detroit children since 1960.
The chief aim of the Foundation is to improve meaningful graduation rates, so Detroit kids are prepared for college, career and life. We invest $17 annually in six areas; community leadership, education, neighborhoods, safety, social innovation and youth development. Though Skillman makes grants throughout Metropolitan Detroit, the bulk of its investment dollars are spent in six Detroit neighborhoods -- Brightmoor, Cody Rouge, Osborn, Chadsey Condon, Northend Woodward Central and Southwest Detroit Neighborhoods, and on innovative and successful schools throughout the city of Detroit.
