True North Sports & Entertainment Ltd. is a Winnipeg, MB based company of 200+ full-time employees 850+ part-time employees that owns and operates the MTS Centre in downtown Winnipeg and the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League. Situated in the heart of Winnipeg’s vibrant downtown core, this 440,000 square foot arena is located on historic grounds; the fusion of yesteryear’s elegance and modern distinction gives the building a look and feel that is uniquely Winnipeg. True North Sports & Entertainment Ltd also owns the Jets’ American Hockey League affiliate, as well as the MTS Iceplex.
Opened in August 2010, the MTS Iceplex is a 177,000 square foot multipurpose, state-of-the-art facility that is open year round and consists of four rinks, a dedicated goalie training centre, high performance fitness and training facilities, and a full service pro shop. The MTS Iceplex provides between 11,000 and 13,000 hours of ice annually which serves the minor hockey community, adult recreation leagues, tournament
