TVM is the outlet for McGill's new media producers. Because of the quick changes in communications media and the rising availability of production tools to students, TVMcGill aims to use these tools to inform, engage and entertain its viewers. The organization relies on student-produced content and strives to show the community how they can produce their own.
Broadcasting throughout Montreal campuses, online, and on closed circuit television on Campus. It is the university's only outlet for student filmmakers and producers. Succeeding its role as a movie-making club throughout the '90s, TVMcGill was officially founded in 2001 as a media service. The organization has grown impressively over the past decade, acquiring a reputation for in-depth news coverage and innovative, exciting new programming. Winners of the 2003 and 2006 Service of the Year Award, as well as the 2005, 2006, and 2008 Website of the Year Award, TVMcGill has garnered numerous accolades for its work.
