Ut Indian Cultural Association

Indian Cultural Association (ICA) bases its mission on three tenets: Culture, Community, and Camaraderie. We aim to spread awareness of Indian culture to the University of Texas at Austin. ICA hosts several events throughout the year which introduce several aspects of Indian culture such as Jhalak (now a Bollywood America bid), Rasoi (where we bring Indian cuisine to campus), Bollywood Beats, and Antakshri. These events, many of which are free and open to the public, help introduce the community at large to the exciting aspects of Indian Culture such as food, music, dance and more. Our organization also aims to better the community around campus. Many members of our organization have volunteered around campus at events such as Project 2013, and proceeds from our events are used to help fund causes such as “Pratham” and “Baal Daan” (South Asian charities at UT).
