Computers en daarmee ICT, zijn niet meer weg te denken uit onze samenleving. Het is niet alleen iets voor volwassenen, ook kinderen worden al vroeg geconfronteerd met deze digitale wereld. Het is dan ook belangrijk dat we al op jonge leeftijd wijs worden gemaakt met ICT. Wij zijn van mening dat ICT, net als taal- en rekenonderwijs, een vak op de basisschool zou moeten zijn. Van onze kinderen wordt op school verwacht dat ze gebruik maken van elektronische hulpmiddelen zoals PowerPoint voor hun spreekbeurt, zonder dat ze er les in krijgen. Daarnaast zitten veel kinderen al op het internet zonder dat ze weten van de do’s en don’ts. Niet iedere ouder is in staat om zijn kind te helpen met deze moderne technologie. Maar ook veel leerkrachten zijn (nog) niet in staat om onze kinderen daarin te ondersteunen!
