Züblin fue fundada en el año 1898 por el ingeniero suizo Eduard Züblin en Estrasburgo (Alsalcia). Posteriormente fueron establecidas sucursales en Alemania, Suiza, Austria, Francia e Italia.
A partir del año 1953, Züblin expande sus operaciones a Europa y posteriormente al resto del mundo, desempeñando hoy un rol activo en más de 100 países.
Desde 1999 todas las actividades extra-europeas de la Ed. Züblin Ag fueron transferidas a la Züblin International GmbH de la cual Ed. Züblin Ag tiene el 100% de las participaciones.
En Chile, Züblin emprende sus negocios en el año 1987 mediante la construcción de la Central Hidroeléctrica Canutillar para la Empresa Nacional de Electricidad (Endesa Chile) y posteriormente se establece como filial en Chile.
A partir de fines del año 2000 inicia sus actividades como Züblin International GmbH Chile SpA, definiendo como política participar en las diferentes especialidades de la construcción, principalmente los mercados de la energía y minería, abarcando además los
