The Imperial College London Diabetes Centre is a new facility in Abu Dhabi specializing in Diabetes Treatment, Research, Training and Public Health.
In the 4th Quarter of 2004, Mubadala Development Company signed a framework agreement with the UK’s Imperial College London for mutual cooperation in the fields of education, healthcare, research & development and industrial development. The first initiative to come out of this partnership is the establishment of the Imperial College London Diabetes Centre in Abu Dhabi. This state-of-the-art specialized Centre was opened in mid August 2006 next to the city’s Zayed Military Hospital.
The treatment at the Centre allows the highest level of specialized patient care from first diagnosis to the management of all the complications associated with diabetes. This is achieved by in-house comprehensive diagnostic facilities including digital retinal photography, retinal laser machines, and the latest in cardiac echocardiographic imaging and stress testing to detect t
