MEVIR is an uruguayan organism that implements a rural housing policy. Its mission is to help build a sustainable habitat for people living and working in rural areas. It works in an integrated way with both rural workers and small farmers in low-income families, creating housing solutions but also productive buildings, community services, infraestructure and technical assistance.
Architecture, Design and Construction
Architects design buildings and the spaces around buildings. They work for individuals, companies and governments, from small scale projects like private houses to large scale projects like office complexes and shopping centers. Architects do not only design the building itself, but also the landscape around it, from how the building will be positioned on the plot and how it will interact with its surroundings. Architects also need to consider the purpose of the building, the materials used for its construction and the impact the building will have on its environment.
