Wataneya Society for the Development of Orphanages:
We aim to develop and implement a unified and integrated mechanism for Egyptian orphanages through the standardization and certification of all aspects of orphanage care giving facilities and activities.
We created in 2010 The First ‘Minimum Quality Standards Handbook’ to enable orphanages to adopt our Minimum Quality Standards and we worked on the unification process with our partners:
MISA
UNICEF
Save the Children
PwC
At our "Amaan" center, we work on delivering:
- the first vocational qualification in child care in Egypt and the Arab World
- specialized training programs for social workers, psychologists and managers such as child protection
- the basic training for alternative mothers and newly hired caregivers
- workshops for volunteers and kofalaa
Through our Youth Development Program "Forsa" we aim to raise youth self-esteem and empower them to be independent productive citizens, with a sponsorship from HSBC Egypt.
