This can only be achieved through a national curriculum to be used to firstly teach and a set national set of assessment instruments for all students so all participants complete with the same skills set. RTOs currently set their own competency assessments and have differing views on what is deemed or makes the person competent. This is the greatest challenge for the VET sector today and into the future. We need to produce measurable and consistently high standards for all our student outcomes.
